Fry's Chocolate Cream must be regarded as an elder statesman of the chocolate bar, being first manufactured at the Bristol factory in 1866. This advert appeared in the 9 July 1955 issue of Picture Post.
That's amazing...1866! I wonder if the recipe changed much. Obviously aimed straight at the women's market with that advert...note the strangely positioned rose...lol.
Hi. Love the blog. I stumbled across it while looking for information on Fry's Chocolate Cream. I found an advert for it in The Daily Telegraph dated 1861, but as you say, the first bar was made in 1866. Any idea what's going on?
